Mammootty’s comment to Priyadarshan-Lissy’s film outing, Sarvam Maya director reveals veterans' reaction to his movie

Sarvam Maya is the latest Malayalam movie to enter the Rs 100 crore club, ensuring that Mollywood ended 2025 on a high. The Nivin Pauly film is winning much love from audiences, but industry greats are also singing praises for the Akhil Sathyan directorial. Akhil, the son of veteran director Sathyan Anthikad, revealed that he has been receiving appreciation from industry greats, including megastar Mammootty. Filmmaker Priyadarshan also had only good words about his movie, while also adding that he and his former wife Lissy would go for Sarvam Maya together.

What did Mammootty say about Sarvam Maya

In an interview with The Cue Studio, Akhil revealed that megastar Mammootty had called up his father Sathyan Anthikad after watching the movie.

“He was very happy with the writing,” Akhil said, revealing his exact words, “Avante cinema oru mullu pollum kalayathe njan kazhichu.” A loose translation would be that the veteran enjoyed the film entirely without leaving any bit.

Akhil further said that he has never even closely interacted with Mammootty and was elated to get such high praise from the iconic star.

Another feedback, that left Akhil personally happy, was when director Priyadarshan called him to say that he and Lissy were going to watch the film together. For the unversed, Priyadarshan and Lissy were married for 24 years and parted ways in 2016. The ex-couple recently made a rare public appearance together when they attended the wedding of filmmaker Sibi Malayil’s son.

Akhil said he was personally happy to hear that they were going to the cinema together and that too for his movie. He also said that both Priyadarshan and Lissy, a yesteryear actress, had called him after watching the movie. Actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, who shot to fame with Lokah, is the daughter of Lissy and Priyadarshan.
