Mammootty’s much-awaited film Rorschach is finally set to hit theatres. Its teaser and trailers have had the audience hooked, and now the megastar, who is also producing the movie under his banner Mammootty Kampany, opened up about its plot and what he hopes will make it a different experience for the audience.

In a recent interview, the actor, who plays Luke Antony in the film directed by Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha filmmaker Nissam Basheer, says though the movie does have some references to the Rorschach test, a psychological test used to detect thought disorders by using the person’s perception of inkblots.

“As the writer of the film says, ‘While Rorschach’s ink-blot test is done through 10 cards, in the film the eight characters serve as the images’. The movie could be a psychological evaluation through those characters,” Mammootty told Manorama News.

While the actor didn’t divulge too much about the film or its plot, he did give a sneak peek into how the movie begins. “It starts with a character arriving at the police station, saying that his wife is missing and she is pregnant. It happened when another vehicle had hit his car while taking a turn. From then, the plot evolves,” said the actor, about the film which is set to hit theatres on October 7.

The film also has Sharafudheen, Grace Antony, Jagadeesh, Kottayam Nazir, Sanju Sivram and Bindu Panicker in pivotal roles. Further on the genre of the movie, Mammootty said, “It could be called a psychological thriller or even a revenge thriller. It also deals with relationships and emotions. The movie is told differently. The storytelling format, its music, editing, cinematography, locations and characters are all thrilling and I believe that’s what is interesting in the film.”

Rorschach is written by Adventures of Omanakuttan and Ibilis scriptwriter Samir Abdul. The film also marks the first release under Mammootty’s banner Mammootty Kampany.
