This is only the second time that Mammootty has shared the poster of a Dulquer Salmaan-starrer in the past decade
Last month, when Mammootty shared the poster of his son Dulquer Salmaan’s Kurup on social media, it surprised a lot of fans of the two stars. The reason being the megastar has never shared any posts concerning Dulquer’s films in the past nine years. Now, in a gap of just under two months, Mammootty has again shared the poster of Dulquer’s upcoming movie Salute.
The megastar posted the poster of Salute, which is directed by Rosshan Andrrews and scripted by Bobby and Sanjay, along with unveiling its release date of January 14, 2022. While actor Manoj K Jayan, who plays the brother of Dulquer’s character Aravind Karunakaran in the movie, thanked the superstar for sharing the news, fans were more curious about who had posted the announcement – Mammootty or Dulquer?
The reason for this was that a month ago, during a press meet for Kurup, Dulquer had admitted that he had taken Mammootty’s phone with his permission to use his social media page to post about Kurup – to maximise the reach. This is what got fans asking if “Kunjikka stole the phone again from Mammukka” to post about Salute.
Salute, which has Dulquer playing a cop, also has Saniya Iyappan, Saikumar, Vijayaraghavan, Binu Pappu and Ganapathi. The movie, which is co-produced by Dulquer, also marks the Mollywood debut of Bollywood actress Diana Penty. Jakes Bejoy is the music composer of the film.
Meanwhile, Mammootty is also gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated movie Bheeshmaparvam, which is directed by Amal Neerad. The gangster flick, which is set in the mid-80s, also has Shine Tom Chacko, Soubin Shahir, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Lena, Sreenath Bhasi, Nedumudi Venu, Sudev Nair and Dileesh Pothan in pivotal roles.
