Mammootty is an actor known for his attention to detail, when it comes to portraying his characters. His performance in movies such as Soorya Manasam, Mrigaya and more recently Bramayugam and Kannur Squad has left a lasting impression on viewers. The Malayalam superstar was recently seen sporting a new look. He was spotted at the airport in short hair and wearing sunglasses. This new look is thought to be for his upcoming project with Vysakh, which Mammootty confirmed during the promotions of Kannur Squad.
Mammootty and Vysakh’s latest collaboration
The yet-to-be-titled film is a mass comedy entertainer written by Midhun Manuel Thomas, who also penned Anjaam Pathiraa. Anjana Jayaprakash is likely to play the female lead in the upcoming movie. The actress is best known for her performance in Fahadh Faasil’s Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum. Shutting down rumours, Mammootty recently said that the film is not titled Adipidi Jose and it is not a sequel to his popular film Kottayam Kunjachan. He also emphasised that the movie will present an entirely new subject.
Mammootty’s latest film Kannur Squad and his upcoming projects
Mammootty’s latest release, Kannur Squad, has been a huge success, earning ₹40 crore worldwide in just five days. Apart from Kerala, Kannur Squad has also been drawing large crowds in Bengaluru and Chennai. The film is an investigative thriller about four police officers, who travel outside the state to nab a few criminals. Based on true events, the movie is helmed by cinematographer-turned-director Roby Varghese Raj, who is known for his work on films like Puthiya Niyamam and The Great Father.
The actor has several new projects in his pipeline - including Bazooka, Bramayugam and Kaathal - The Core. Bazooka, directed by Deeno Dennis, is a game thriller film, currently in the post-production stage. In Bramayugam, which is a horror thriller film directed by Rahul Sadasivan, Mammootty plays a negative role. Produced by YNOT Studios, the film will be released across India in 2024.
