Mammootty's The Truth to have a sequel by Shaji Kailas?, ask fans

Shaji Kailas is one of the most renowned filmmakers of the Malayalam film industry. He is known for producing commercial entertainers. The director got a breakthrough with his comedy film Dr. Pasupathy. The 1998 film The Truth, which is led by Mammootty, is considered as one of the best films of Shaji Kailas. The filmmaker recently took to social media to share a throwback photo from the sets of the film with the Nation Award-winning actor. 

He shared the throwback picture on his official Instagram account and wrote in the caption, “Smiling is the best reaction, in every situation.” Shaji Kailas also mentioned that the image is from the sets of The Truth and his post went viral with several fans of the actor commenting on the post. One of them wrote, “One of the best script of SN Swami.” Another fan asked if they can expect a sequel to the movie.

The Mammootty starrer film The Truth had a stellar cast that includes Thilakan, Kollam Thulasi, Vani Viswanath, Augustine, Janardhanan, Divya Unni and Murali. One of the other major highlights of the film is its climax scene. Written by SN Swamy who is well-known for his CBI movie series and films like Moonnam Mura, Dhruvam, Nariman, and Naduvazhikal.

Mammootty played the role of DIG Bharath Patteri IPS in the crime drama and the film went on to become a major hit. It was later remade in Kannada as Naxalite, starring actor Devaraj, Vijayalakshmi and KS Ashwanth.
