Manasanamaha fame Viraj Ashwin pins his hopes on Baby

Viraj Ashwin, the nephew of renowned editor Marthand K Venkatesh, is gradually cementing his presence in Telugu cinema with his consistent performances. The exciting young talent, who made his acting debut with Anaganaga O Prema Katha, will next be seen in the highly-anticipated Baby, directed by Hrudaya Kaleyam maker Sai Rajesh, which releases on July 14.

The trailer of Baby, launched earlier this weekend, has been in the news for the right reasons. While his co-stars Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya are cast a lovestruck couple in a small town, their equation changes with the arrival of an urban youngster in a college, played by Viraj Ashwin. The actor is apt for the part and his chocolate-boy avatar has received much appreciation.

The film, produced by SKN under Mass Movie Makers, is a romantic triangle focusing on the changing equations among the three characters. Baby’s box office fate is quite crucial for Viraj Ashwin, who was last seen in Maya Petika. The music by Vijai Bulganin, well-cut trailer and impressive posters have certainly created a buzz for Baby, which doesn’t have any major competition as of now.

The upcoming actor shot to fame during lockdown with his appearance in the globally acclaimed short film Manasanamaha, which also found a place among the Guinness Book of World Records as the ‘highest awarded short film’ (513 awards). He also had a direct-to-OTT release in 2021, Thank You Brother, where he co-starred Anasuya Bharadwaj. The film was widely watched on aha.

Besides Baby, Viraj has three films which are in the post-production stage, including Mareechika, directed by national award-winning filmmaker Satish Kasetty, that also stars Anupama Parameswaran, Regina Cassandra. As an actor, his main focus is to ensure variety in his roles. For now, Viraj has pinned his hopes on Baby.
