Manju Warrier begins shooting for Ayisha in Ras Al Khaimah, actors from Tunisia, Syria, Yemen and UAE join team

The team of Manju Warrier-starrer Ayisha has begun the shoot of the Indo-Arabic film in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, from Tuesday. The movie, directed by debutant Aamir Pallikal and scripted by Aashif Kakkodi, has a host of international actors as part of the cast.

Apart from the Malayalam actors, the makers of the movie let out the list of foreign actors, who are part of the team. These include Lathifa from Tunisia, Salama from the UAE, Jennifer from Philippines, Sarafina from Nigeria, Sumaya from Yemen and Islam from Syria. Radhika, Sajna and Poornima are the other actors from Mollywood who will also be seen in pivotal roles.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Aamir had told us, “Ayisha is a family movie with fun and entertaining elements. It’s also probably the first commercial Malayalam film to have an Indo-Arab backdrop and be released in Malayalam and Arabic.”

Prior to the shoot at Al Qasimi palace in Ras Al Khaimah, the team had an acting workshop. The film will also have Arabic singers render tracks under the composition of music director M Jayachandran. Apart from shooting in the UAE, the film will have schedules in India in New Delhi and Mumbai by the end of February. Ayisha is produced by Sudani from Nigeria and Halal Love Story director Zakariya.

Meanwhile, Manju Warrier will next be seen in her own production venture Lalitham Sundaram, which is directed by Madhu Wariar. The movie, which also has Biju Menon, Deepti Sati, Anu Mohan and Saiju Kurup, is touted to be a feel-good family entertainer and had completed its shoot last year. The movie is currently set to release on Disney+ Hotstar in February.

The actress has also completed shooting for Jayasurya’s Meri Awaaz Suno, Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s Kayattam and Mahesh Vettiyar’s Vellarikapattanam, which also has Soubin Shahir in the lead.
