The survival drama has now emerged as the all-time highest-grossing film in the history of Malayalam cinema. Manjummel Boys, which completed over 60 days at the theatres, has made a total worldwide collection of over Rs. 235 crore within its lifetime run. As reported earlier, the Chidambaram directorial also set some major box office records in the industry, including the first-ever film to cross the Rs. 200 crore mark, and the all-time highest-grossing Malayalam film at the Tamil Nadu box office.
Notably, Manjummel Boys was released across Tamil Nadu only in Malayalam, and the makers kept it the same way even after the movie emerged as a massive success. The nostalgia associated with the Kamal Haasan starrer Guna and the Kanmani Anbodu song which play major roles in taking the story forward, has helped the film immensely in connecting with the common Tamil audiences.
