Manoj Bajpayee-Vipul Shah's collaboration for Governor

Manoj Bajpayee and Vipul Shah have collaborated for the political-thriller Governor, a source confirmed to PeepingMoon. However, Shah only takes on the role of a producer for the film starring Bajpayee in the lead role. The movie is their first collaboration together, and things might not have turned out as expected had one factor gone wrong i.e. the director’s. Currently, Chinmay Mandlekar is helming the movie and is expected to complete it soon too.

How Manoj Bajpayee brought Chinmay Mandlekar on-board as the director for Governor?

Manoj Bajpayee was supposed to work on Governor with his Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai director, Apoorv Singh Karki. However, after a lot of back-and-forth, Karki had to step out of the project citing other work commitments. That is when Bajpayee brought Chinmay Mandlekar on-board. This happened after the two collaborated on the Netflix cop-drama Inspector Zende and bonded well on the sets, too.

Current update on Governor

Governor's casting is still underway, and is expected to be finalized before July. The project would go on floors between July and August. Despatch actor Manoj Bajpayee hopes to wrap up Neeraj Pandey's Netflix film helmed by Ritesh Shah by the time.

Apart from Governor and Neeraj Pandey's next, Bajpayee will also be seen in the third season of The Family Man aka The Family Man season 3, which is scheduled for Diwali weekend release. The actor will also feature in Shekhar Kapur's Masoom sequel, Masoom: The Next Generation and Ram Gopal Varma's Police Station Mein Bhoot.
