Manoj Bajpayee on Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai: I cannot go wrong with this story

ZEE5 suspense-thriller Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai is about a self-proclaimed godman who appears to be rich and politically well-connected. However, his life soon enters a bush of thorns as he gets charged under various sections including relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The godman feels he has nothing to worry about until he meets a lawyer. 

In the film, lead actor Manoj Bajpayee essays the role of a lawyer who aims to win a case against this powerful godman accused of assaulting a minor. Will Bajpayee be successful in his mission? Though this mystery will be solved on May 23, several netizens have saved the date on their calendars to watch the film.

Today, the trailer of Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai was launched. Bajpayee, who was present at the launch event in Mumbai, enthusiastically answered the questions of the media persons. When asked about what inspired him to sign up for this film, the actor quickly credits his “fans and their unconditional support”.

He says, “It feels great to act such roles, but I also do feel nervous. I fasten my belt whenever I feel uncomfortable (acting in such roles). But the love I get from all of you (fans) keeps me going, reaffirms my faith in content, and the great intention of great storytellers.”

Talking further, the 54-year-old actor adds, “The one thing that completely inspired me to take up this work was its story. Usually, I always wait for the script because a story can be told in many ways. However, when I heard this story from Suparn (creative producer Suparn S Varma) at a meeting in a club... I realised that we cannot go wrong with this story. And made sure we write and make a great film.”

Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai also features actors Surya Mohan Kulshrestha, Priyanka Setia, and Jaihind Kumar.
