Naseeruddin Shah attended the Cannes Film Festival for the first time with a movie that he starred in half a century ago. The legendary Indian actor was in attendance at the festival with Prateik Babbar, who is the son of the late Smita Patil. The 1976 classic film was screened at the prestigious event at the Salle Buñuel on May 17. It is the only Indian movie to have been selected under the Classics Section at the festival this year. The movie revolves around the Milk Revolution Movement of Dr. Verghese Kurien, who is regarded as the father of the White Revolution in India. Shyam Benegal developed the script with Dr. Kurien and Vijay Tendulkar.
Alongside Smita Patil, the movie also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Girish Karnad, Mohan Agashe, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Anant Nag, and Amrish Puri.
