The trailer of Andrea Jeremiah-starrer Manushi has been unveiled by popular actor Vijay Sethupathi on his social media pages. The trailer showcases Andrea as a young woman, living with her father. At first, it is shown that three girls have been abducted in the town and that Andrea is the prime suspect. She and her father are arrested and questioned by a team of police officers. Throughout the trailer, the actress is tortured by the cops and in the end, she reveals that she teaches tribal girls in a village but she is suspected of being a communist. Later, the actress hits back by saying, she has been an Indian even before caste and titles ever existed. Although the trailer does not disclose why exactly she has been arrested, it is safe to assume that the film will deal with politics and social issues. Andrea seems to be playing a character who is fighting for justice in this promising thriller.  

Moreover, the film is produced under director Vetrimaaran’s home production house Grassroot Film Company, which is known for producing content-rich films pertaining to social issues.

The upcoming thriller is directed by N Gopi Nainar, who made his debut with Aramm. The film has music composed by maestro Ilaiyaraaja and stars Nassar, Thamizh and Malayalam actor Hakkim Shah. The cinematography is handled by AM Edwin Sakay, while the editing for the film is done by Antony and R Ramar. A release date is yet to be announced for the same.

 Meanwhile, Andrea Jeremiah’s latest outing Kaa - The Forest hit the big screens on March 29. Directed by Nanjil, the film opened to mixed to negative reviews and has been receiving lukewarm responses at the box office. The actress’ upcoming lineup includes No Entry and Pisaasu II among others. The actress is also in talks to star as the female lead opposite Kavin in his upcoming film, which is tentatively titled Kavin 07. However, an official announcement is awaited.
