After his last series, Kaala Paani (2023), Mid Day asked the actor to share his feelings about facing the camera for Manvat Murders. Gowariker shared that playing Kulkarni, who was famous for solving the Raman Raghav case, is the most fortunate thing that has happened to him. He also added that the book Footprints on the Sands of Crime gave them a glimpse into his method, his meticulousness, and how he dealt with suspects and coerced confessions.

Meanwhile, during his preparation in January of 2024, the actor had an opportunity to meet Kulkarni's family. He met Anita Bhogle, Ramakant Kulkarni's daughter, and her husband Harsha Bhogle to fully comprehend the character—his demeanor, actions, and convictions.

Produced by Storyteller’s Nook (Mahesh Kothare and Adinath Kothare) and created by Girish Joshi, Manvat Murders is directed by Ashish Bende.

Based on Ramakant S. Kulkarni's autobiographical work, "Footprints on the Sand of Crime", the show features an ensemble cast, including Ashutosh Gowariker, Makarand Anaspure, Sonali Kulkarni, and Sai Tamhankar in the lead roles.

Manvat Murders will be released on SonyLIV on October 4. You can also watch it with your OTTPlay Premium subscription.
