After impressing fans and critics with Ponman, Basil Joseph is back with an exciting film titled Maranamass. The upcoming Malayalam film is slated to release on April 10, 2025, as a Vishu release. Ahead of it, the makers of the Sivaprasad directorial have shared the Maranamass trailer, giving viewers a peek into all the fun and chaos that are set to unfold on the big screen.
The Maranamass trailer begins with news updates about a serial killer who is termed to be the most terrifying after the notorious Ripper Chandran. Babu Antony is portrayed as Ajay Ramachandran IPS, one of the brilliant investigators, who has been tasked with probing the case.
The trailer then introduces us to ‘angry young star’ Basil Joseph, who seems to be a seasoned troublemaker who even put out an ad on OLX to sell the local police station. The actor, who is seen in a funky-coloured hairstyle, is shown going through a plethora of emotions as he claims to be a ‘sigma’ and then pleads for a reply over the phone. Suresh Krishna is shown as Jikku, the bus driver, gearing up for his marriage.
The trailer then returns to the hunt for the serial killer, with the government announcing a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh. Rajesh Madhavan, with his inimitable style of humour, leaves a mark in the trailer, which also features Anishma Anilkumar and Siju Sunny. Notably, Siju Sunny has also penned the film. The trailer also asks viewers to get ready to witness the 'mass of the masses'.
Overall, the Maranamass trailer promises a wild ride with fun-filled chaotic moments with Basil Joseph in charge.
Basil Joseph, who also starred in Nunakuzhi last year, seems to have again won over the fans with the Maranamass trailer. Comments below the trailer video on YouTube said “pure goosebumps overloaded”, and “What a colorful trailer., Omg this is more than i expected.. 100% winner”.
Fans were also quick to point out the trailer had references to Unni Mukundan’s Marco, calling it a brilliant move.
Minnal Murali star Tovino Thomas has produced Maranamass along with Rapheal Pozholiparambil, Tingston Thomas and Thanzeer Salam.
