The 2024 film Marco was unlike any Malayalam movie we have seen with the sheer amount of bloody violence depicted on screen. The Haneef Adeni film elevated Unni Mukundan to the status of an action superstar and gave us a new villain in Cyrus, played by actor Kabir Duhan Singh. Though a Marco sequel was promised, there has been no recent update. In an exclusive chat with OTTplay ahead of his digital debut Kasaragod Embassy, Kabir Duhan expressed his wish to be part of the sequel.
The action-packed Marco movie, helmed by Haneef Adeni and backed by Shareef Muhammed, ended by teasing a sequel. When OTTplay quizzed Kabir Duhan Singh on when the Marco sequel is coming, the actor quipped, “I have no clue. But I think it will be a fresh story. Haneef sir is busy and Shareef is also busy with Kattalan now. So I have no clue when they are going to make Marco 2. If it comes, I so wanna join the team again.”

Though a blockbuster hit, Marco also made headlines when its lead actor Unni Mukundan declared that he would not continue with the film series. However, his statement was not repeated by the makers, who went ahead and registered the sequel title as Lord Marco.
Kabir Duhan Singh, who was recently seen in the Zee5 series Kasaragod Embassy, is also part of Kattalan, which has been backed by Marco makers. Kattalan, starring actor Antony Varghese Pepe, is also an actioner, set for May 2026 release.

Despite playing the ruthless role of Cyrus, Kabir Duhan Singh won much love for his performance for the movie, which got appreciation at a national level.
“Currently, I am shooting in Dehradhun for my Hindi movie. I play a police officer, inspector Vikram Bisht. But they are calling me Cyrus here,” he quipped.

Remarking about Marco’s pan-Indian popularity, Kabir said, “Here also, they have seen Marcoa and Cyrus is popular. They are telling me - Sir, please come in Marco 2. I am very thankful to Haneef, Shareef bhai for giving me Marco. It is a once-in-a-lifetime film. Nobody will forget Marco or Cyrus. I am glad that I am part of this massive blockbuster, which was a hit even in the Hindi belt. I signed some 12 films after Marco,” the actor added.
Marco, currently streaming on SonyLiv, follows the titular character who goes on a ruthless rampage when his foster brother is brutally killed. Kabir played the villain Cyrus, who has a massive showdown with Marco in the thrilling climax.
