Unni Mukundan’s action thriller Marco, which was released on SonyLiv on Valentine’s Eve, narrated a revenge story which is driven by blood-spattered violence. The action-packed plot follows the lead character Marco as he sets out to seek revenge after a loved one, Victor (Ishaan Shoukath), is killed. But apart from avenging the murder of Victor, Marco also has another duty on his hands - safeguard his unborn child. So was Unni Mukundan’s Marco able to save Victor’s baby? Read on to find out and of course, spoilers ahead.

Marco plot

Marco is the adopted son of the Adattu family, and the foster brother of George (Siddique) and Victor, who is blind. After his friend Waseem gets killed, Victor identifies the culprits but he too meets with a gory end. Marco goes on a bloody rampage as he finds out that the culprits are Tony Issac (Jagadish) and his son Russell (Abhimanyu Shammi Thilakan). After learning that Victor’s girlfriend Isha is pregnant with his child, Marco and George vow to safeguard the unborn baby at any cost.

As the gang war intensifies and the body count increases, Tony Issac too gets killed after Marco literally traps him in a 'death chair'. Feeling cornered, Russell reaches out to his older foster brother Cyrus (Kabir Duhan Singh) to exact revenge. The focus shifts to the Adattu family mansion as Isha goes into labour, and George decides that their house is the safest option for them. On the fateful night, Cyrus, with his gang of armed men, storms the Adattu house and takes down each of their members in the most brutal manner, which would make the viewers look away from the screen. George puts up a valiant fight as Marco guards the room of Isha. But even as little kids fall victim to Cyrus’ evil deeds, Marco is forced to come to their rescue but is beaten to submission.

After maiming, killing and committing the worst harm on every house member in front of George and Marco, Cyrus attacks the pregnant Isha (yes, it is difficult to even watch). Cyrus takes away the newborn baby after cruelly cutting off the umbilical cord.

As George’s final words echo in his ears, Marco rises up again and heads to Tony's chemical factory. Mayhem ensues as the armed goons try to hold back the macho Marco but to no avail. Marco breaks free and rains down hell on the villains, and heads roll. He rips apart Russell and aims for Cyrus, who holds Victor’s baby in a blood-soaked bundle over a tank of acid. But Marco kills Cyrus and rescues the baby.

As the end credits roll, we see Marco watching over a little boy by the beach as a line of cars makes its way to them. A shadow of fear appears on Marco's face as the boy goes missing from the screen. Haneef Adeni's film ends there, setting the stage for the sequel of Marco.
