The musical trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy drama Marivillin Gopurangal has brought to life the reprised version of an iconic song from a popular Malayalam film. A new rendition of the song ‘Marivillin Gopurangal’ from Summer in Bethlehem, starring Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, and Kalabhavan Mani, has been featured in this new-age rom-com that is set to hit the big screen on February 16.
A few glimpses into the lives of two young couples and the supporting cast of the movie are also included in the two-minute video. Vidyasagar, who composed the soundtracks for Marivillin Gopurangal, was the music director of the 1998 romantic comedy Summer in Bethlehem. The lyrics for all the songs have been penned by Vinayak Sasikumar.
The five soundtracks that Vidyasagar composed for this film are another noteworthy feature that evokes nostalgia in viewers, as director Arun Bose noted in a recent interview with OTTplay. The producers of this movie had already dropped three other songs, apart from the teaser.
The movie delves into the lives of two couples—married Shinu and Sherin (Indrajith Sukumaran and Shruti Ramachandran, respectively) and Rony and Meenakshi (Sarjano Khalid and Vincy Sony Aloshious), an unmarried one who are expecting a child. When the latter stays with Shinu and Sherin, their lives take an unexpected turn, and they begin to view marriage and love differently.

Arun Bose, who has helmed Unni Mukundan's Mindiyum Paranjum and Tovino Thomas' Luca, is directing this movie. Both Pramod Mohan and the director have come up with the screenplay for the film.
Salim Kumar, Bindu Panicker, Sai Kumar, and Johny Antony are some of Marivillin Gopurangal's supporting cast members. The film's camera work was handled by Syamaprakash M S, and its editors are Arun Bose and Shaijal P V The film's creative producer is K R Praveen.
