Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep’s first release of 2025 is Mark, which comes exactly a year after his last, Max , both directed by Vijay Kartikeyaa. Mark went on floors on July 7, 2 days before which Sudeep had announced the film’s release date. Over the next 4 months, the team shot for 107 days, across multiple locations, to complete it in the first week of November.

Kiccha Sudeep has taken a shine to the Christmas holiday, after his film Max released on December 25 last year and went on to become a hit. Exactly a year later, he brings Mark to theatres on December 25, 2025. The film has been censored U/A and is being released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi simultaneously, according to the makers. In Karnataka, the film will open with 6 am special shows on December 25. It has been censored U/A with a run-time of 2 hours and 25 minutes.

The trailer of Mark was released on December 7, which revealed that Sudeep’s character Ajay Markandayya is an SP-ranked police official, who is under suspension, for reasons that will be revealed in the film. The suspension is courtesy a corrupt politician, which Mark has to sort out, but he’s also got his hands full with the investigation into kidnappings and killing of children, a case that has a personal connect for him.

Mark is Max maker Vijay Kartikeyaa’s sophomore project. Cinematography is by Shekar Chandru, while music is credited to Ajaneesh B Loknath. The film’s massive ensemble cast includes Kiccha Sudeep, Yogi Babu, Naveen Chandra, Vikranth, Guru Somasundaram, Dragon Manju, Roshni Prakash, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Archana Kottige, Dev Gill, Arul Dass, GM Kumar, Krishnapriya, Deepshika, Mahantesh Hiremath, Pratap Narayan and Shine Tom Chacko, among others.

Mark OTT partner

There is no official information about the satellite and digital deals of Mark. However, given that both of Sudeep’s last two releases went to Zee5, the assumption is that the streamer will line up for Mark too. However, Mark has been produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, and most of their more recent productions have all gone to Amazon Prime Video. An announcement is expected to be made shortly.

A. There have been rumours that director Vijay Kartikeyaa rebranded the script for Max 2 as Mark, but the filmmaker has negated this, stating that the nuances of the character in Mark are very different from Max's Arjun Mahakshay.
