Mark Antony has opened to a terrific response from movie buffs across the world. The movie was released on Friday amid a lot of expectations and it seemed to have made a lasting impression on the fans of Tamil mainstream movies.
With a fantastic opening, Mark Antony seems to give the much-needed break to Vishal's career, which was reeling under back-to-back commercial flops and controversies. "I feel so blessed to hear great feedback from those who watched the movie. Not just in Tamil Nadu, the movie is doing well in Kerala, Karnataka and Telugu states and overseas. Besides its commercial success, the audience is also having a lot of fun," Vishal said.
The leading members of Tamil cinema, including Simbu and Karthi, promoted the movie, adding to the movie's momentum. Vishal also expressed his gratitude to all stars for their support for the movie.
Mark Antony sets box office on fire
The movie took an excellent opening across the world by raking in nearly Rs 8 crore on its opening day in Tamil Nadu alone. While it earned a combined Rs 1.2 crore from its ticket sales in Karnataka and Kerala. It has also received an encouraging response in the Telugu states. Given that there are no new releases this week, the movie might significantly benefit from the holiday for Ganesh Chaturthi.
On Saturday, the movie's performance improved as it raked in close to Rs 9 crore at the Tamil Nadu box office. It also received a boost in its ticket sales in Kerala and Karnataka, where the movie earned Rs 1.2 crore and Rs 95 lakh respectively.

As Vishal predicted the movie managed to weather the Jawan storm at the Tamil Nadu box office. Contrary to previous Hinid movies, Jawan received a huge opening in Tamil Nadu as it predominantly boasts of Tamil talents, including director Atlee, composer Anirudh, actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara.
Even though Jawan remains a top choice for movie-goers in the south Indian states, Mark Antony has managed to make a mark.
