Several prominent celebrities hold a special place in their hearts for the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. While many members of the Hindi cinema have walked the red carpet for makeup and fashion brands, others have had their movies screened at the renowned film festival. Richa Chadha, Vicky Kaushal, and Shweta Tripathi are three such actors.

Masaan, their picture, premiered at the 68th Cannes Film Festival in 2015, and it was a watershed event for the actors. It was Vicky Kaushal's first lead role, and he made a strong impression. Richa took to Instagram on Thursday night to reminisce over their trip to Cannes in 2015, sharing some beautiful old images.

Richa stated on Instagram while sharing the photographs that she aspires to return to the film festival with yet another movie. She wrote: "Throwback to Masaan at Cannes! The largest fashion event in the world does feel different when you go with a film. Hope to be there soon with a film that we produce this time. P.S- The last video is me crying during a 5-minute standing ovation for Masaan. #cannes #masaan #throwbackthursday."

Masaan premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival in 2015, winning two awards. Masaan, helmed by Neeraj Ghaywan, received positive reviews and a great box office performance in India. At the 63rd National Awards, Neeraj Ghaywan received Best Debut Film of a Director Award.

Vicky Kaushal's career was further boosted by Masaan, and the actor began to land big-budget productions. Vicky began his career with supporting roles in popular films such as Raman Raghav 2.0, Raazi, and Sanju, but it was with 2019's Uri: The Surgical Strike that got him more fame and established him as a lead actor.

Vicky has a number of intriguing projects in the works, including Govinda Naam Mera and an untitled movie with Sara Ali Khan.
