In July this year, Masaba Gupta announced that she has finally kickstarted the shoot for the second season of Masaba Masaba. Now, after nearly 42 days of filming, the ace fashion designer has wrapped the shoot of the Netflix series. Masaba took to her Instagram page and shared a black-and-white video in which she is seen holding a clapperboard from the sets of the show.
While sharing the video, Gupta captioned it as "42 days. Lots of laughs, tears, anxieties, pure happiness, deep tiredness later it’s a wrap on season 2. Three cheers to the incredible cast, crew (Dr K) & everyone who was a part of this! Masaba Masaba is a scripted series based on real-life moments from Masaba's life. It follows her unique background, the diverse worlds she straddles across fashion and family and also her foray back into the dating world. It's an inspirational, joyous celebration of her life.
The fun series is packed with tongue-in-cheek humour, enacted by the mother-daughter duo, Masaba and veteran actor Neena Gupta themselves.
Masaba Masaba is written and directed by Sonam Nair and produced by Ashvini Yardi’s Viniyard Films.
The first season dropped on Netflix in August 2020, and it also featured a few special appearances by Bollywood celebs namely Kiara Advani, Farah Khan, Gajraj Rao, Mithila Palkar, Shibani Dandekar, Dara Sandhu and Malavika Mohanan.
Whereas Satyadeep Mishra, Neil Bhoopalam, Rytasha Rathore, Smaran Sahu, Nayan Shukla, Suchitra Pillai, Tanuj Virwani and Pooja Bedi were seen in supporting roles.
The streaming date of the second season is yet to be announced by Netflix and the makers. But it's likely to drop in 2022.
