After the season 2 shoot got delayed due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the crew is now ready to get into the production phase starting next month.
Masaba Masaba, the fictional take on the life and struggles of ace designer Masaba Gupta on Netflix, opened to positive responses last year. This March, Neena Gupta had announced that a second instalment of the show is in the works. Now, a report by Mid-Day suggests that the second season of Masaba Masaba will focus on Neena Gupta's life.
The plan to shoot the second season of the show in April was derailed by the second wave of the pandemic. Creator Ashvini Yardi and director Sonam Nair will now commence the shoot in July.
A source from the creative team had informed Mid-Day that, “Masaba and Neenaji will report to the set by mid-July. While senior actors like Neenaji are fully vaccinated, only those who have at least got the first dose will be allowed on the set.”
“When the makers had approached her, Neenaji had narrated certain interesting incidents from her life, which have now found a mention in her autobiography, Sach Kahun Toh. These incidents will be included in the new episodes. The makers are yet to speak to Masaba’s cricketer father Vivian Richards, but there is a possibility of him making an appearance too,” the source revealed.
Veteran actor Neena Gupta recently released her autobiography, Sach Kahun Toh. She is currently shooting for Vikas Bahl's Goodbye alongside Amitabh Bachchan. Her latest release, Sardar ka Grandson is available to stream on Netflix.
