With Masoom, Boman Irani is ready to make his digital debut. On Wednesday, the actor debuted the trailer for the show, which is directed by Mihir Desai and executive produced by Gurmmeet Singh. The project is a remake of the award-winning Irish series Blood in Hindi.
Masoom, billed as a thriller, is set in Punjab and stars Boman as a mystery father with a shady past. Sana Kapoor (Samara Tijori), 21, is shown in the teaser deciding to drive down to her estranged family after learning of her ailing mother's tragic death. Uncertainty greets her upon arrival, as her father, brother, and extended relatives appear to be concealing secrets that fuel her suspicions. Sana and her father, who used to be his favourite child, now appear to have a love-hate relationship, as he orders her to leave the house as soon as the rituals are through to prevent her from digging up dirt in the family.
When asked about his persona, Boman stated that Masoom on Disney+ Hotstar, who has been making some of my favourite shows this year, gave him his long-awaited digital debut. The series is a portal that allows him to enter a new universe while also allowing him to reach a larger audience. It was difficult to play the father of his fictional daughter, Samara since the role was powerful and gritty. It's been fascinating to work with newcomers like Samara and the incredibly talented staff. Boman had the privilege of watching a young actor hone her craft, and it helped him grow in certain ways as well.
Samara Tijori, meanwhile, revealed further information about her role. In Masoom, she portrays a young girl who is determined to learn the truth despite the fact that everyone around her wishes to keep it hidden. It was a tremendous learning experience to play this character with a professional actor like Boman Irani as her on-screen father. Working with a cast and crew with so much experience allowed her to grow as a performer and a person as a whole. Samara sincerely hopes that audiences will enjoy the thrill and exhilaration that the story will provide.
Mihir Desai, the director, said that the story of Masoom begins with a daughter's quest to discover the truth as her entire family fights to keep it hidden. Her mother's sudden death serves as a trigger for revealing the family's secrets. He is glad he got to work with Boman Irani and Samara Tijori, who play a touching father-daughter duo.
On June 17, Masoom will be available on Disney+ Hotstar.
