MasterChef Australia season 13 has featured a host of talented cooks who have been spreading their magic in the MasterChef kitchen with some extraordinary and innovative cuisines. With traditional flavours being the king, this season has witnessed delectable Indian dishes that have made the judges go gaga over them. The show which can be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar, featured some desi dishes that can be found in a fancy restaurant or on the streets of India.

We are listing down five such dishes created by talented contestants on the latest season of MasterChef Australia that left the judges highly impressed.

Chole & Kadhai Paneer

This dish set the internet on fire. Chole & Kadhai Paneer- the two popular Indian dishes have been superhit on the show. Delhi-born Australian contestant Depinder Chhibber got loaded with appreciations when she served the judges a full-fledged thali that also included cauliflower parantha, pickle, stir-fried rice and fried okra chips.

Judges Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong and Andy Allen thoroughly enjoyed the food that made it a showstopper of the episode.

Puchkas

Also called Paani Poori and Golgappe, this Indian street food is famous for its sweetness and tanginess all over the world. Kishwar Chowdhury, a contestant with Bangladeshi roots, presented the judges with a plate of Puchkas that were made with a twist.

Khichdi & Baingan Bharta (Smoked Eggplant)

Another dish by Kishwar, she served Khichdi & Baingan Bharta with Maach Bhaja (pan seared spiced bream) and Niramish (Bengali 5 spiced vegetables). The judges loved the dishes containing authentic Indian flavours and joked about being her kids so they could have it every day.

Tandoori Chicken, Naan & Lassi

Another Indian dish by Depinder, who served the full-fledged Punjabi meal of tandoori chicken, naan, chutney, charred cabbage, chillies and smoked lassi. The mouth-watering spread took the judges’ heart away. She cooked it at the fire immunity challenge in the show, which was a good call!

Chicken Biryani

The name is enough! This was the third dish by Depinder that swept the judges off their feet. She cooked it with a smoking technique to give the biryani a different flavour! Depinder’s Chicken Biryani was presented with coriander and mint chutney, and pickled onions.
