Masterchef Australia is known to invite new participants of every culture and race, giving the viewers across the globe a ‘taste’ from every nook and corner of the world. One of the contestants in the latest season, Masterchef Australia season 13, has managed to surprise all with her unique ‘Indian curry cake’ recipe.

Depinder Chhibber, who is from an Indian origin, took the 75-minute cooking challenge. The creative invention test was something that the remaining 15 home cooks had to pass. They were asked to create a dish with a vegetable as its hero ingredient.

For the challenge, Depinder chose to make curry into a dessert, and thus, she came up with the concept of a ‘curry cake’, with onion as its main ingredient. The green curry cake was served with coconut cream.

Surprisingly, judges Andy Allen, Jock Zonfrillo and Melissa Leong devoured the dish. Andy, who isn’t a big fan of cakes, also happened to praise Depinder for preparing the dish the way she made it.

Apart from Depender, Aaron Sanders, Amir Manoly, Brent Draper, Dan Dumbrell, Elise Pulbrook, Justin Narayan, Kishwar Chowdhury, Linda Dalrymple, Pete Campbell, Sabina Newton, Scott Bagnell, Tom Levick and Tommy Pham are currently competing for the title.

Masterchef Australia can be viewed on Star World on TV. The show is also streamed on Disney+Hotstar.

Masterchef as a concept became so popular that almost every country, including India, has its own version of the show, with popular faces as the host and judges.
