Indian-origin contestant Justin Narayan took home the winner’s trophy at this year’s MasterChef Australia Season 13. Justin, who resides in Australia, has become the second Indian-origin contestant to win the title after Sashi Cheliah, who won it in season 10.
Justin beat finalists Kishwar Chowdhury and Pete Campbell in the final round to finish on top and take home the MasterChef Australia trophy as well as the whopping prize money of $250,000.
Talking about his extraordinary journey in the MasterChef kitchen, Justin told News 18 that it has been very humbling and he is absolutely honoured to be a part of it and win the title. “I’m genuinely going to take a week to process this and let it sink in, and then I’ll, like, write you an email, let you know how I feel,” he added.
While talking about his all-time favourite dish on the show, Justin revealed that he finds the charcoal chicken and toum super delicious and it reminds him of a lot of good times with his close friends. “My favourite challenge was definitely cooking at Andy’s Three Blue Ducks restaurant. That kitchen was unreal and running a real service, very addictive,” he mentioned about the show.
Announcing its winner on Twitter, the makers of the world-famous Australian show shared a picture of Justin holding the MasterChef trophy and wrote. “Congratulations to our #MasterChefAU 2021 WINNER!”
