Is Austin Butler the find of the season? Well, the actor is living up to the billing with eclectic choices that range from Jeff Nichols' The Bikeriders to Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Two and if that wasn't enough, Elvis is set to grace the small screen as Major Gale Cleven in the upcoming miniseries Masters of the Air.

With Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman serving as executive producers, Masters of the Air comes as a compelling companion piece to the trio's previous two collaborations, Band of Brothers (2001) and The Pacific (2010). 

When and where to watch Masters of the Air on OTT

Along with Austin Butler, a large ensemble cast of Masters of the Air comprising Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle, Nate Mann, Raff Law, Barry Keoghan and others with the panel of directors including Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective: Season 1, No Time to Die), Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind, Captain Marvel), Tim Van Patten (Boardwalk Empire, Perry Mason) and Dee Rees (Mudbound, The Last Thing He Wanted). 

John Orloff serves as the sole writer of the show which is based on Donald L. Miller's book Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought The Air War Against Nazi Germany - the limited series will feature nine episodes. Masters of the Air will debut on Apple TV+ on January 26, 2024.

Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television on the move

Masters of the Air won't be the only show in production under Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television. The visionary filmmaker is collaborating with multiple different production entities and some of his upcoming ventures include the Netflix docu-series 'Life on the Planet', a TV take on Walter Mosley's iconic character 'Easy Rawlins', a limited series with HBO based on the 'Napoleon' script that Stanley Kubrick had penned in his time and several more.
