Following the screening, the sci-fi fantasy movie received favorable reviews, with many praising the director for convincingly crafting a stunning dyspotian universe set around 2046. With the performances of every member of the cast elevating the experience of viewing the film on a big screen, the technical aspects of the film are regarded as one of its strongest points. In addition to praising Rajisha Vijayan's portrayal as Frida Soman, actress Namitha Pramod said that the movie includes a lot of funny scenes that will keep viewers amused. 

Dheeran star Aswathy Manohar referred to Masthishka Maranam as one of her favorite movies, stating that it is a relatable to everyone and wholesome entertainer. "The way Krishand has created the dyspotian world is intriguing to watch," she stated.
