Masthishka Maranam, the recently released Malayalam film starring actor Rajisha Vijayan in the lead role, is heading towards OTT debut this week. While we had earlier reported that the film will premiere on Netflix, the streaming platform has confirmed that it will debut on March 27.

In this week’s releases, Rajisha Vijayan’s latest Malayalam film Masthishka Maranam is set to premiere. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film and will release on March 27. If you have not already watched the Malayalam dystopian satire, then you can stream it this weekend.
Masthishka Maranam is set in the near future, 2040, where in Neo Kochi, a bereaving parent is indulging in VR games to divert attention from his child. While the games allow him to experience near-death experiences of others, Masthishka Maranam talks about what happens when he gets into the memory of superstar Frida Soman and know a secret that entangles them.
The cast of Masthishka Maranam is led by actor Rajisha Vijayan who plays Freda Soman. She is supported by actors Niranj Maniyanpilla, Jagadish, Zhinz Shan, Divya Prabha, Rahul Rajagopal, Suresh Krishna, and Vishnu Agastya and others. Director Krishand has helmed the film which opened to good reviews. Krishand has also edited the film which is shot by cinematographer Prayag Mukundan and music scored by Varkey.

Meanwhile there are some notable releases that are streaming on OTT this week. Vijay Sethupathi’s web series Kaattaan will stream on JioHotstar on March 27, along with family drama Naangal on SunNXT via OTTplay Premium. Meanwhile another Malayalam film Valathu Vashathe Kallan, starring Biju Menon and Joju George will stream on Manorama Max from March 27. In Telugu, Sampradayini Suppini Suddapoosani, a crime comedy will release on ETV Win on March 27.
