Thaneer Mathan Dinangal duo Mathew Thomas and Naslen has already emerged as dependable artistes with their recent ventures collecting at the box office and them also being lauded for their performances. After the success of Jo and Jo, the youngsters will once again be seen sharing screen space in director Sudhi Maddison’s film Neymar.

The film, which has been billed as the duo’s first “pan-Indian” entertainer, is currently being shot in Pondicherry. Sudhi, who had previously worked as a co-director in Operation Java, had earlier told us that both Mathew and Naslen’s characters in the film have just given their plus-2 exams and are awaiting their results. The movie showcases a series of incidents that happen in their lives, he said.

While the filmmaker, who had also worked in films such as Jilla and Happy Wedding, didn’t reveal too much about the relevance of the title, he did divulge that Naslen and Mathew are members of the Brazil football fan club in their hometown in the movie.

Compared to their previous ventures, where one of them, mostly Naslen, played second fiddle to Mathew’s character, Neymar will have both of them in the lead. The movie is an all-out family entertainer that also includes travel and other incidents that happen during their carefree time while they wait for their Plus-2 results. Shaan Rahman is the composer of the movie, which has Alby as its cinematographer.

Meanwhile, Mathew has also completed shooting for the sports drama Kapp, which is scripted and directed by Sanju V Samuel. The movie, which also has Namitha Pramod, Basil Joseph and Guru Somasundaram in pivotal roles, has him playing a 17-year-old, who aspires to be a badminton player. How those in his village help him achieve his goal form the plot of the film, which is currently in its post-production phase.
