At the end of a very long wait, Kiccha Sudeep fans got the pay-off they were hoping for. The trailer of the Kannada superstar’s film Max, which was to have been released earlier today, came out at 9. 30 pm eventually and netizens are literally going ga-ga over the explosive content.
Describing the trailer as “pure mass”, “Explosive”, “Mindblowing”, “Chindi”, among others, Sudeep fans are absolutely thrilled at Sudeep’s outing as Arjun Mahakshay. “Anna, this is how we wanted to see you”, said many, adding that Sudeep’s back with a bang after more than 2 years. Others added that Sudeep’s “psych swag” and “beast mode” avatar will literally set off fireworks in the theatres.
Around the time that the trailer dropped, advance bookings for the December 25 release also opened, with several single-screens setting Arjun Mahakshay’s hunt to start as early as 6 am. Several shows are already fast-filling. Distributor Karthik Gowda had tweeted earlier in the day that there would be over 100 early morning shows at PVR Cinemas properties in the state.

KRG Studios had come under fire when the first list of theatres of Max was revealed and fans said that the choice of single-screen theatres that they’d got were sub-standard for an actor of Sudeep’s calibre. Most of the better screens are currently screening Upendra’s UI.
Meanwhile, a few exhibitors, like DRC Cinemas in Mysuru, Hosur Grand Cinemas and Big Cinemas in Shivamogga will have early morning shows on all 4 of the screens at each of these properties. Max is not opening with hiked ticket rates. On average, single-screen tickets are between Rs 200 and Rs 300, while multiplex rates at the moment hover in the Rs 300-Rs 350 range, except for recliners.
Max, directed by debutant Vijay Kartikeyaa and produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu, also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sunil, Sharath Lohithashwa, Pramod Shetty, Ugramm Manju, Sukrutha Wagle, Samyukta Hornad, Sudha Belawadi among others. The film’s music is by Ajaneesh Loknath, in what is his second collaboration with Sudeep, after Vikrant Rona.
