Maya Murder Case: Earlier this week, popular TV serial maker TN Seetharam began work on a new venture – a crime thriller web series with Siri Ravikumar in the lead

TN Seetharam, who has been a very popular name in the Kannada television content scene since the 1990s, with shows like Mukha Mukhi, Male Billu, Muktha, Maha Parva and Magalu Janaki, among many others, has ventured into the web series space. Earlier this week, Seetharam took to social media to announce the start of shooting of the show Maya Murder Case, with filmmaker-actor Pavan Wadeyar, Siri Ravikumar, Hanumantha Gowda, Manasi Sudhir and Nagarjun on the cast.
A crime thriller, in which Seetharam will also have a role as a special prosecutor. The director had also posted about where the show will be available once ready. Maya Murder Case will be available on Bhoomika Mini OTT is what he’d written. Now, if you are wondering what platform this is, well, it is likely an offshoot of Seetharam’s production house, Bhoomika Productions, which already has an official YouTube channel called Bhoomika Talkies. Seetharam’s serials like Mukha Mukhi, Mayamruga, Mohini vs Mahalinga, Mukta and others can be watched on this channel.
While the makers have not announced a release window for Maya Murder Case, it remains to be seen if it will be on the YouTube channel or if Seetharam launches a platform exclusively for his shows, much like the makers of the Kannada web series Ekam did last year. Given Seetharam’s long association with multiple television channels, it is surprising that his series has not made it to any mainstream OTT platform.
For the longest, OTTs have stayed away from the Kannada web series space. Voot had acquired a couple – Honeymoon and By Mistake – produced by Niveditha Shivarajkumar and Sakkath Studio. These shows are now on JioHotstar. Before the JioCinema and Hotstar merger, the former had commissioned a Kannada web series called Abhi I Love You, featuring Vikram Ravichandran, but the show failed to grab eyeballs. Since then, there’d been no other Kannada series, until 2025, when Zee5 finally launched its maiden show, Ayyana Mane.
