Mayasabha is Sony LIV's latest web series that has caught the imagination of one and all with its teaser, which was released recently. Deva Katta has directed this series, and he is being praised for taking on the very controversial topic of Andhra Pradesh politics and making a series based on reputed leaders Chandrababu Naidu and YS Rajasekhar Reddy.

Mayasabha is a seven-episode series about how close friends became enemies and eventually became Chief Ministers of their state. Deva Katta made headlines with the award-winning classic Prasthanam. But sadly, since then, he has only delivered flops.
Deva was once considered one of the most sought-after directors in Telugu cinema, but went on to deliver failures like Auto Nagar Surya and Republic. He also remade Prasthanam in Hindi, but that film ended up as a flop too.
Now that he has narrated Mayasabha in a splendid manner, he seems to be back on track. Deva Katta is known for the strong drama in his films, and judging by the teaser of Mayasabha, one feels that he is back with a solid subject to narrate.
Aadhi Pinisetty and Chaitanya Rao play Chandrababu Naidu and YS Rajasekhar Reddy, respectively, in the series, which will premiere on August 7, 2025, on Sony LIV. You can also stream the show on OTTplay Premium.

He was also directing a web series based on Baahubali for Netflix, but that project was stalled as Netflix was not happy with the final output.
