This year’s Association of Malayalam Movie Artists’ (AMMA) stage show was organised as part of the Mazhavil Entertainment Awards, which was filmed earlier in August. The show, which featured some of the biggest stars in Malayalam cinema, is set to begin streaming on a leading OTT platform as part of its Onam releases in August.
The awards show, which was organised in Kochi on August 3, featured a bevy of stars including Mohanlal, Mammootty, Kunchacko Boban, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Tovino Thomas, Rajisha Vijayan, Manju Warrier and Nikhila Vimal, in attendance.
The show also had performances from Mohanlal, Asif Ali and other actors interspersed between the awards. Some of the notable segments during the event include Mammootty and Mohanlal coming together to pay tribute to legendary actor Madhu as well as filmmaker Fazil. When and where to watch Mazhavil Entertainment Awards 2023 online?
Mazhavil Entertainment Awards is set to have its telecast on Mazhavil Manorama on August 19 and 20 and is also expected to begin streaming on Manorama Max the same day from 6.30pm. The show will also be available to stream on OTTplay Premium.
Last year too, AMMA had collaborated with Mazhavil Manorama for the awards function. The Malayalam actors’ body had initially planned a movie with all its members, including Mohanlal, Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan and Fahadh Faasil, post pandemic but that plan seems to have been put on hold.

There are reports of the team now uniting for a web series, but the presence of leading actors is still in question. AMMA had earlier teamed up with a YouTube channel for the streaming rights of its general body meeting a few months ago. Its secretary Edavela Babu had said that the initiative was part of efforts to generate revenue from these events, which were initially being streamed for free.
