Jason Statham starrer The Meg 2: The Trench marks the sequel of the 2018 science fiction action film of the same name. The Ben Wheatley directorial was released this year on August 3 and is now set to stream online.
The latest sequel is the continuation of the first part that follows Jonas Taylor, an environmentalist, who has been fighting environmental crime as well as helping a company to look deeper than Mariana Trench to know about any uninvited guests, who can create issues for their new project. And that is where they find even bigger Megalodons.
The final trailer of the movie was out last month which sees the environmentalist finding even a bigger Megalodon than the last one (in the first part) and a lot more information about the biggest species in the world. Makers dropped the official video with a special caption that reads, "Bigger Megs, bigger danger, bigger thrill! (sic)."

Statham himself dropped multiple posters of his latest film before it was released in theatres. One of the images witnesses him running for his life on a water scooter holding a weapon in his hand in front of the Meg.

Meg 2 was made with a budget of $129 million which equals to Rs 10,69,73,89,500. Meanwhile, the Hollywood action movie minted over $386 million at the box office.
Behind the scenes
In one of the bts videos director Ben Wheatley unveiled how the team took the giant creature called Megalodons and made it into the biggest species along with a few new creatures in the film.

Launching within a few weeks of its theatrical release, Meg 2: The Trench is now available to rent on Prime Video, for INR 499, while it is anticipated to be out on subscription as well later this year.
