Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are beginning their journey behind the camera on Netflix’s Heart of Invictus. Announced by Archewell Productions, brainchild of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the multi-episode docuseries will premiere on Netflix and will be the couple’s first project. The series will revolve around the Invictus Games which are a paralympics-style competition for wounded veterans and service personnel, founded by Prince Harry in 2014.
The Heart of Invictus will focus on veterans-turned-athletes who are preparing for the 2022 Invictus Games in The Netherlands, despite their injuries and illnesses. Prince Harry is set to feature in the show, in addition to being an executive producer on the series. Talking about the show, He stated that he knew that each competitor of the Invictus Games would make exceptional contributions in their own way from the inception of the games in 2014. He also highlighted his excitement for the project and his pride in the Invictus community for continuing to inspire others with their determination and continued service.
The Invictus Games Foundation will also serve as an executive producer on the series, bringing considerable funding to the organisation which will enable them to continue to rehabilitate service members through sports. Signing a multi-year deal with Netflix, Meghan and Harry are set to produce a range of documentaries, series and movies for the platform. Director Orlando von Einsiedel and producer Joanna Natasegara have come together for Heart of Invictus.
Following their split from the royal family, Meghan and Harry have settled in Southern California and are prepared to step into the world of showbiz.
