The daughter of actors Sunder Raj and Pramila Joshai, Meghana Raj began her film career in Telugu, which she quickly followed up with a Kannada film, Punda in 2010. Thereafter, though, she started doing Malayalam movies, an industry where she found a firm footing, and returned to Kannada cinema only in 2013, with Rajahuli, opposite Rocking Star Yash. There were a few more Malayalam movies at the time, but then Meghana began focusing exclusively on Kannada cinema. The actress, who married her Aatagara co-star Chiranjeevi Sarja in 2018, lost him only two years later, when he succumbed to a massive cardiac arrest. She was five months pregnant with their son Raayan Raj Sarja at the time.
Following Chiranjeevi’s passing, Meghana stayed away from showbiz for a while, focusing on being Raayan’s primary caregiver. A return to cinema didn’t cross her mind, until Chiranjeevi’s good friend and filmmaker Pannaga Bharana suggested that she listen to a script. A crime thriller by debutant Vishal Atreya, the subject was to her liking and Meghana decided to do the film after all, a good three years after she last faced the arclights.

Called Tatsama Tadbhava, the film is about Meghana’s character Arika claiming that her husband has gone missing and the investigation that follows, led by Prajwal Devaraj as a cop named Arvind Ashwatthama. The film is set to release in theatres on September 15 and while it was reported during the making that it would be a Kannada-Malayalam bilingual, the makers have now confirmed that it will have a simultaneous theatrical outing in both states. The distribution partner in Kerala is looking at releasing Tatsama Tadbhava in around 75 centres, it was said during the trailer release. In Karnataka, KRG Studios is handling the distribution.
