Sumanth Prabhas, who shot to fame with his short films and web shows on Youtube, is testing his fortunes across multiple arenas with the rural entertainer Mem Famous on May 26. The multi-faceted talent has been the talk of the town ever since Mahesh Babu announced that he’d be producing his next film as an actor-director. He shared his happiness in a press meet organised in Hyderabad today.

“The day began with a positive vibe for me. Mahesh Babu was tweeting in praise of my efforts and hailed every craft that contributed to the film. Sharath Chandra, my producer, while responding to him, were discussing about me and they decided to back my second film over a tweet. I couldn’t believe my luck and this is a surreal experience, “ the debutant actor-writer-director said.

“It requires a lot of trust to introduce and trust over 50 new people through a film and my producers gave me the energy and the confidence to pull it off. It’s not easy to trust a newcomer like me but their faith in my abilities never wavered. It was because of our cinematographer Shyam Dupati that it shaped up beyond our expectations in terms of visuals. You’ll take the songs back home and I thank my editor Srujana for her contributions,” Sumanth Prabhas added.

“I was sceptical when my producers said they were organising a premiere show for Mem Famous, a film without any identifiable faces. They assured me that the younger lot is waiting to watch films made by people like us. I and my friends are always excited when premiere shows are organised for any film and judge the buzz by its response. I now can’t believe that all tickets for the premiere shows in AP and Telangana are sold out,” he exclaimed.

“We’re a bunch of 20s something kids who made a film together. If we’ve done anything unintentionally wrong during our promotions, please excuse us and I’m confident we’ll entertain you,” he signed off.
