Men Too, a comedy about male victimisation in relationships, is set to hit theatres on May 26. Naresh Agastya, Brahmaji, Viva Harsha and Riya Suman play the lead roles in the film directed by Srikanth G Reddy. Mourya Siddavaram has bankrolled the project under Lantern Creative Works. ‘Being a man is not easy,’ reads the caption, where the male protagonists are victims of patriarchy themselves.
Sundeep Kishan and Vishwak Sen unveiled the film’s trailer today. The trailer starts with the meaning of feminism in a dictionary (woman’s fight for the equality of sexes). Two men in an auto interact with a driver and ask why they’re forced to sit beside the driver when men and women pay the same fare for a ride. The tale later shifts to a ‘stags only’ pub where men rant about their partners and their troubled relationships.
While a corporate employee is struggling with his job, another youngster is in an unhappy relationship. The friends are constantly boozing and one among them is a middle-aged man who needs an outlet to discuss his marriage woes. The film is a coming-of-age tale that views the clashes between genders in a light-hearted vein. Is there a happy ending in store for the couples?
Sudharshan, Priyanka Sharma, Mourya Siddavaram, Kaushik Ghantasala, Ashritha, Karthik Adusumilli play other important roles in the film. Elisha Praveen G and Osho Venkat score the music for Men Too, for which PC Mouli has cranked the camera. Karthik Vunnava is the editor while Rakendu Mouli has written the dialogues and the lyrics. Chandra Mouli Eathalapaka is the art director and Srihitha Kotagiri is the costume designer.
Naresh Agastya had multiple releases in 2022 - Panchathantram, Happy Birthday, Modern Love Hyderabad. Meanwhile, his on-screen love interest Riya Suman was last seen in Aadi Saikumar’s Top Gear. Mourya Siddavaram earlier produced a web show Shit Happens, acted in films like Month of Madhu, the web series The Grill. Men Too will clash with two other films on May 26 - Malli Pelli, Mem Famous.
