Bhumi Pednekar is ecstatic to have the chance to test the waters of comedy in her forthcoming film Mere Husband Ki Biwi, a subgenre she feels was more prevalent in Hindi cinema of the 1990s. The romantic comedy features Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, and other actors who revel in the idiosyncrasies of love. Mudassar Aziz is behind the camera, having helmed hits like Happy Bhag Jayegi, Pati Patni Aur Woh, and Khel Khel Mein.
At the trailer launch, Pednekar stated that growing up, she would watch these kinds of films and be captivated by the performances of Karishma Kapoor and others. Pati Patni Aur Woh and Mere Husband Ki Biwi, two of Aziz's films, provided her the chance to show humor, and she is grateful for that. Comedies rarely feature female actors and it is her favourite kind of cinema. In this film, the two female leads play the lead roles in the comedy sequences, much like in the 90s with the number one series films. Therefore, they have adopted a similar approach.
When asked about the possibility of fears and ego clashes among female performers, Pednekar and Singh said they are genuinely excellent friends, dismissing the idea.
Pednekar called her sister and said that her best friend Jackky Bhagnani is her husband, and since then, she has grown into one of her closest pals. Some males who lack confidence must have originated this story about two heroines who are insecure since it is not true. They had a blast filming the movie; there's nothing wrong between them.
Their director was concerned that their friendship with Pednekar wouldn't translate to the film because their characters are antagonistic towards one another, as Singh disclosed.
Even though they are close friends in real life, Aziz has warned them to keep their distance so that they can portray an antagonistic relationship on screen. The filmmaker was concerned that their friendship wouldn't come over in the film.
According to Kapoor, who is paired opposite Pednekar and Singh, they have a true friendship, and he never felt that they were insecure with each other.
Sometimes, people compare the competition between two heroines to that of two dancers on a stage. None of the actors ever went up to the director or producer and demanded, "Change this scene." They already had the script and character designs for the film in hand. They meticulously followed the script. Kapoor never witnessed them feeling insecure about each other as a third party.
On February 21, cinemas will welcome Mere Husband Ki Biwi, a film produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Deshmukh under the name of Pooja Entertainment.
