Mere Husband Ki Biwi Box Office Collection Day 1: No film, unless as strong as Chhaava, can steal the thunder from the Vicky Kaushal starrer. However, a new contender has entered the race this Friday—Mere Husband Ki Biwi, starring Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh, directed by Mudassar Aziz. The comedy-drama has been making headlines for various reasons but had a very short promotional window before release. Now, as it hits the big screen, the film struggles against Chhaava’s dominance, leaving little room for its success.
Arjun Kapoor leads this comedy of errors, alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh. The film revolves around a man happily in love with his girlfriend until his ex-wife, after an accident that causes memory loss, returns to his life believing they are still married. As the confusion deepens, both women must decide who gets to claim him. The film has received mixed reviews, and its first-day box office collection stands at ₹1.50 crore, as per Sacnilk. To survive the Chhaava storm, the film will need strong word-of-mouth support.
According to Sacnilk, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava remains strong, earning ₹23 crore on Day 8, bringing its total collection to ₹242.25 crore. However, it fell short by ₹2 crore in surpassing URI: The Surgical Strike’s lifetime collection of ₹244 crore. It is expected to achieve that milestone tomorrow.
As per Bollywood Hungama, Bhumi Pednekar spoke about Chhaava's success and expressed her hopes for Mere Husband Ki Biwi. She said, “When a celebration like this happens, the audience is in a mood to visit cinemas. I really hope the positivity that Chhaava has brought to audiences reflects onto our film as well. I want to congratulate Vicky, Laxman Sir, Rashmika (Mandanna), Viineet (Kumar Singh), and everyone associated with Chhaava.”
She further added,“Seeing the kind of success Chhaava has achieved makes me very happy because, before being an actor, I am a lover of cinema.” Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Mere Husband Ki Biwi is now playing in theaters. While it has received mixed reviews, the film continues to generate buzz.
