In the film, Ankur gets a divorce from his wife, Prabhleen Kaur (Bhumi Pednekar), because they can't get past their disagreements. Three years later, when Ankur unexpectedly proposes to Antara Khanna (Rakul Preet Singh), the woman he harboured a romantic crush on in college, Prabhleen reappears.

Due to retrograde amnesia, Prabhleen is unable to remember anything from the past five years, including her divorce, after a car accident. She returns to Ankur's life, insisting she is still married to him, leading to a whirlwind of bewilderment, animosity, and emotional turmoil. Ankur's attempts to reconcile his relationships with his two partners—one from his past and one from his present—lead to a series of misunderstandings, emotional confrontations, and comical drama.
