Michael Jackson’s biopic is in the works, which is exciting news for the entertainment world. Recent reports suggest that the movie will be backed by Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody producer Graham King. Also, the script will be penned by Gladiator screenwriter John Logan. The worldwide distribution of the film will be geared up by Lionsgate, as revealed by the studio’s chair, Joe Drake, recently.
According to the studio, the movie will have an "in-depth portrayal of the complicated man who became the King of Pop." It will also bring out the most iconic performances of the singer, which gave an insight into his personal life. The project will be co-produced by John Branca and John McClain.
Drake’s statement also reveals that the group is thrilled to work with Graham on this epic piece. From Bohemian Rhapsody to Ali, his contributions are unquestionable. According to Drake, as quoted by IANS, the collaboration with John is going to bring nothing less than extraordinary, according to IANS.
Graham King, in a statement, spilled beans about him meeting the Jackson family in the ‘80s. He also added that while sitting at Dodger Stadium watching the Victory Tour, he had never thought that he would get to be a part of this film after 38 years.
The film, which is tentatively titled "Michael", is also being made with the cooperation of the Michael Jackson estate. Following this, many reports suggest that the estate might influence the film's handling of some allegations against the pop king, including child abuse.
Meanwhile, the Jackson business has been in the headlines lately, especially after the Broadway musical MJ: The Musical. It features some court victories which dealt with some serious legal crises.
