Michelle Monaghan to play the role of identical twins in the Netflix series, Echoes

This mystery series is about two identical twins, Leni and Gina who had swapped their lives ever since they were little and continue to live so, culminating in a double life as adults. They share everything including their homes, husbands and even a child. Everything in their perfectly choreographed world takes a topsy-turvy turn when one of the sisters goes missing.

Leni is the sweet and modest one among both of them who is content to stay home, marry her childhood sweetheart and raise her daughter and also helps in running their horse farm where everyone from her family is rooted and shares history. Whereas, Geni is a rebellious sister who is the black sheep of the family and has eloped to Los Angeles where she rose to fame in no time writing about a dark undertow that cultured her Southern childhood.

Brian Yorkey from 13 Reasons Why and Quinton Peeples from Runaways serve as showrunners on the series and executive produce alongside creator-writer Vanessa Gazy (Eden). Echoes is the first series to stem from Yorkey’s recently signed overall deal with Netflix, for whom he spearheaded breakout 13 Reasons Why.

Monaghan’s credits include Messiah, True Detective, The Path and features Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Gone Baby Gone. She’s repped by ICM Partners, Anonymous Content and Sloane Offer.
