Milana Nagaraj on Love Mocktail remakes: Thrilled that Tamannaah is in Telugu version; want Samantha in Tamil

The Kannada film Love Mocktail was a sleeper hit in 2020, the success of which ensured that it got picked up for a remake in Telugu. The film, produced by Darling Krishna and Milana Nagaraj, who acted in it, is now ready with a sequel as well, while the Telugu version of the original is also gearing up for release. For Milana, who played Nidhi in the film, having Tamannaah take on the role was a moment she had not thought of even in her wildest dreams.

“Tamanaah was the next big thing back when I was in college. She started her film career quite early, so, I have kind of looked up to her, as I made baby steps in films. Having her play a role that I did first was something I never even dreamt of. In fact, when Krishna and I met her, more than us gushing over her, it was the other way around, as she was quite the fan of Love Mocktail, having seen it multiple times in preparation for her role in the Telugu version, Gurtunda Seethakalam . Satyadev plays Krishna’s character, while Kavya Shetty takes on the role played by Amrutha Iyengar in the original. I was very happy meeting Tamannah,” Milana was quoted as saying.

When asked who she would like to see play Nidhi if a Tamil version were made, Milana quipped without a second thought that it would be Samantha. “She is my favourite actress. It would be great if she does the role. I admire her as a person and for her onscreen performances. The way she carries herself onscreen of off it is amazing. I would really like to see her play Nidhi,” she adds.

Milana was speaking on the sidelines of a promotional event for Love Mocktail 2 , which is scheduled to release on February 11. Although her character Nidhi passes away in Love Mocktail, Milana will be seen in the sequel in flashback sequences. The sequel, as per the trailer, takes off two years after the events of the original and has Aadi (Krishna) finding love again.
