Mimi Chakraborty has already started her Bollywood outings. The actress will be seen with Paresh Rawal in Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Hindi remake of Posto. The Bengali version also features Mimi, along with Jisshu U Sengupta, Soumitra Chatterjee and others. Now the actress has got an offer to work on a web series for a leading national OTT platform.
As per reports, The show will be directed by Bollywood’s director and writer Soumik Sen, who directed Gulaab Gang with Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla. In 2019, he directed the Bengali film Mahalaya, which features Jisshu U Sengupta, Subhashish Mukhopadhyay and others. Mimi has received the offer of the lead character in the show but as of now, it is uncertain if she has accepted it.
Mimi’s Hindi remake of Posto will be released soon. The project is director duo Shiboprosad and Nandita’s first big film in Hindi. Earlier, Rishi Kapoor was supposed to play one of the main characters. However, after his demise, Paresh Rawal will be seen in the character. The film delves into the life of a young child who stays with his grandparents. When his parents want to take him back with them, the grandfather sues his son and daughter-in-law.
Mimi has been working on several projects in Kolkata too. She has paired up with Arjun Chakrabarty in Arindam Sil’s Khela Jokhon. Besides, she has another film by Premendu Bikash Chaki. Mimi was recently seen at a film award ceremony in Mumbai where top industry stars were in attendance.
Several Bengali actresses, including Swastika Mukherjee, Paoli and others, have been working in Bollywood. Actors like Parambrata Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee and Jisshu also have been working regularly on national projects. Parambrata, one of the busiest of the lot, will soon be seen as the lead of Pavan Wadeyar’s Notary.
