Mimi Chakraborty to play lawyer in a web series with Tota Roy Chowdhury
Evidently, OTT is the new cool. A bevy of stars have entered the web platforms with meatier roles in fascinating web series. In fact, Prosenjit Chatterjee reclaimed his National fame after delivering a power-packed performance in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Jubilee. This is a global trend that has touched the Bengali film industry as well. From Subhasree Ganguly to Ankush Hazra to Anirban Bhattacharya, Oindrila Sen, Sohini Sarkar, Priyanka Sarkar, Ishaa Saha, Ritwik Chakraborty, and Koushani Mukherjee – many stars have tried their luck in OTT. Parambrata Chatterjee, Paoli Dam, and Swastika Mukherjee worked in both Bollywood and Tollywood. Now, Mimi Chakraborty is making her debut on the web.
The series, directed by Chandrasish Roy, will star Mimi and Tota Roychoudhury. The name of the series is Jaha Bolibo Sotyo Bolibo. This is a courtroom drama. Mimi will play an advocate.
Mimi played a lawyer previously in the film Dhananjay. Then several years passed and she worked on her acting prowess. However, she does not want to disclose about her character in the series. Tota will be the defense lawyer and Mimi will play the prosecutor. It will be dropped on Hoichoi.
Mimi is playing a cop in the upcoming film Raktabeej, opposite Abir Chatterjee. The film will be released on October 19.
Tota’s first series, Nikhoj, was released in August on Hoichoi. Directed by Ayan Chakraborti, the film features Swastika Mukherjee, Koneenica Banerjee, Paran Bandyopadhyay, and others.
