Karnataka’s current minister of state for Agriculture, BC Patil, has quite a vibrant career to his name. Having begun his professional career as a policeman more than four decades ago, B.C. Patil would then foray into his other main passion of acting in the early ‘90s. Following a successful stint at the movies which saw him act in as many as 25 films (also producer and director), he would venture into politics and sporadically appear in films during the course. He was last seen in T.N. Seetharam’s 2017 film ‘Kaafi Thota’.

However, as per the latest reports, B.C. Patil is all set to make his acting comeback with Yogaraj Bhat’s upcoming film ‘Garadi’. Many would already know that BC Patil is also serving as the producer of Garadi and a recent online report reveals that he would be playing a key role in the film that stars Yashas Surya and Sonal Monteiro in the lead roles. To make things better, B.C. Patil will be joined by his colleague and Minister of Co-operation in Karnataka, S.T. Somashekar, who makes a friendly but crucial appearance in the film.

Speaking to the daily, B.C. Patil shared that he plays the role of Ustad Ramanna in Garadi, a revered wrestling (or kushti) trainer who takes two contrasting characters under his tutelage. Ustad Ramanna is passionate about wrestling and dreams of his pupils winning major competitions but is also a righteous and principled man who instills similar values in all his students. Minister S.T. Somashekar, on the other hand, is slated to make his acting debut in the film as Ustab Ramanna close friend and aid who comes in at a crucial juncture in the story.

Garadi is centered on the world of traditional gymnasiums with Yashas Surya playing the role of a wrestler in the film. Reportedly, his character arc involves a rise from being a chef for fellow wrestlers to becoming a prominent part of the sport and the actor has put in all the hard yards to fit the requirement. Challenging Star Darshan too plays a key role in the film.
