Minmini out on OTT: Where to stream Halitha Shameem’s film right now

Minmini , the 2024 Tamil film written and directed by filmmaker Halitha Shameem is now streaming on ZEE5. The coming-of-age film which speaks about survivor’s guilt, can be watched with OTTplay Premium subscription.

Director Halitha Shameem, who has made films like Aelay, and Sillu Karupati, last helmed the 2024 film Minmini. The director had at many instances said that it is her dream project and had gone to great extents to film the project. Minmini eventually released in August 2024 and now is available for streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium. If you would like to see a film with refreshing voice and storytelling, then Minmini is your go to watch this weekend.

The director had begun shooting the film in 2015 with a young cast and had waited for seven long years for the cast to grow up and resume the shooting once again so that they could reprise their roles. Actors Esther Anil, Gaurav Kaalai and Pravin Kishore are part of the cast. Minmini talks about survivor’s guilt, and we see two young adults taking a bike ride to the mountains.

Cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa, who shot the film, has also produced it along with Murali Krishnan. Khatija Rahman has scored the music. Raymond Derrick Crasta is its editor.

This week’s OTT releases in Tamil

It is a happening weekend for Tamil cinema in the OTT space. Films like Suriya-starrer Retro and Devayani’s Nizharkudai have begun streaming on Netflix and Aha Tamil respectively. A romantic web series titled Vaanil Thedinen is also out. In a few days, this year’s blockbuster hit family drama film Tourist Family will be making its streaming debut. The film will be available on JioHotstar from June 2 onwards.

Apart from Tamil releases, Malayalam film Thudarum and HIT 3 featuring Nani are also out on JioHotstar and Netflix.
