Be it as ‘Billi Maasi’ or one among the ‘South Delhi girls’, Kusha Kapila’s witty content has been widely appreciated on the internet. The comedian has now ventured into acting, appearing in different projects lately, the latest being the web series Minus One: New Chapter, which has just released on Lionsgate Play.
Speaking about the transformation in her creative journey, Kusha said, “As an artist, I would love to explore different things. I want to do roles that don’t limit me. I do comedy online, and that’s how I started my career. It has actually been an accidental career. Many times, you’re confused about your own career trajectory, and I was at a point like what next? What should I do now?”
She revealed that it was at such a point when the opportunity to play Nayantara in the show Minus One: New Chapter came her way. “This role of Nayantara came at a very opportune moment when I was wondering where to go from here,” she added.
The artist also mentioned that working on the project was a huge learning for her since she had to learn and unlearn a lot as an actor. “Once I remember, Shubham Yogi [one of the creators of the show] told me ‘you are mouthing your dialogue. I want you to feel it’. So, he asked me to say whatever came to my mind. The process was almost like an acting workshop so, I think just the two days on set I learnt so much,” she elaborated.
Earlier, Kusha has been part of projects like Ghost Stories, Plan A Plan B, Masaba Masaba, Comicstaan and Case Toh Banta Hai. She also participated in LOL: Hasse Toh Phasse, and hosted the comedy show Comicstaan season 3.
Minus One: New Chapter, produced by Writeous Studios and created by Sidhantha Mathur and Shubham, features Ayush Mehra and Aisha Ahmed as the lead pair.
